Petal Bladed Calcite 2 - Longyan, Fujian

A beautiful sculptural Calcite specimen from Longyan, Fujian, featuring layers of snowy white bladed crystals growing in the prettiest petal-like formations.

The Calcite forms delicate overlapping sprays across the entire piece, with everything from fine needle-like blades to larger sweeping crystals. I especially love the way the formations seem to fold into one another, almost like layers of white flowers.

In the light, the edges of the Calcite catch a soft pearly sparkle, bringing out all the intricate details and dimension throughout the piece. Such an elegant statement specimen, and one that looks beautiful from every angle.
