Bi-colour Pink Barite with Galena & Cerussite - Midelt Province, Morocco
7cm by 7cm. Includes display stand.
A beautiful Moroccan mineral specimen featuring an abundance of soft salmon-pink Barite growing amongst contrasting metallic Galena and delicate Cerussite crystals.
The Barite forms intricate clusters of thin, bladed crystals that radiate outward into little rosettes and fan-like formations. Shades of warm peach, blush pink and creamy ivory flow throughout the piece, while dark silvery-grey Galena crystals peek through between the delicate Barite petals.
The specimen is wonderfully detailed, with overlapping layers of Barite creating a miniature garden of crystalline flowers. The contrast between the soft pastel formations and the metallic minerals gives the piece beautiful depth, with new little details to discover from every angle.
The Mibladen Mining District is well known amongst mineral collectors for its beautiful associations of Barite, Galena and Cerussite, particularly specimens displaying unusual crystal habits and delicate rosette formations.
