A dreamy Pink Petal Calcite specimen from the Huanggang Fe-Sn Deposit, featuring a beautiful blanket of soft blush-pink Calcite growing across a contrasting Quartz matrix.

The surface is covered in countless delicate Calcite blades, forming tiny rosettes, fans and flower-like clusters. Shades of dusty pink, pale peach and creamy ivory mingle across the piece, with subtle areas of green mineralisation adding even more natural character.

What I love most about this piece is its unusual landscape-like formation. Viewed from the side, the layer of pink Calcite looks almost like a field of tiny blossoms growing across the cool, glassy Quartz beneath. The exposed Quartz along the edge also gives a beautiful glimpse into the contrasting matrix supporting all of that delicate crystal growth.

Huanggang is renowned amongst collectors for its exceptionally diverse mineral assemblages and beautiful Calcite and Quartz specimens, particularly those displaying unusual crystal habits and associations.
