Rosette Petal Calcite on Quartz - Huanggang, Inner Mongolia
7.5cm long. Comes with stand as pictured.
An incredibly intricate Calcite specimen from the Huanggang Fe-Sn Deposit, covered in delicate cream and pale blush crystal formations growing across a Quartz matrix.
What makes this piece especially beautiful are the numerous little Calcite rosettes scattered across the surface. Thin blades curl and overlap around one another like tiny crystalline flowers, while other areas form feathery sprays and layered petal-like clusters. Soft ivory, champagne and the palest blush tones give the specimen a wonderfully dreamy appearance.
The elongated shape makes it feel almost like a miniature mineral garden, with new rosettes, crystal pockets and intricate textures appearing from every angle. Subtle green-grey mineralisation within the matrix adds another layer of natural contrast.
Huanggang is renowned amongst collectors for its diverse mineral assemblages and beautifully crystallised Calcite and Quartz specimens, including unusual bladed and rosette-like Calcite habits.
Calcite is traditionally associated with clarity and uplifting energy, while Quartz is often connected with clarity and amplification.
