A beautiful Fluorite specimen featuring intergrown cubic crystals in soft shades of lavender purple, icy green and silvery grey.

The specimen is made up of overlapping Fluorite cubes in varying sizes, creating a wonderfully dimensional formation with crystals growing across and into one another. Many of the cubes are beautifully translucent, allowing the internal colour and structure to become much more visible when viewed under direct light.

What makes this piece particularly striking is its colour zoning. Pale green to almost colourless centres are framed by delicate lavender and deeper violet edges, with some crystals displaying distinct internal cubic zoning and subtle phantom-like layers. As the specimen is turned, the colours shift between cool seafoam green, smoky grey, pale lilac and soft purple.

The larger crystals have a lovely glassy appearance, while smaller cubes and stepped growth along the edges add another layer of texture and detail. Natural inclusions and variations in clarity can be seen suspended within the Fluorite, making each crystal slightly different from the next.

Yaogangxian Mine in Hunan Province is well known among mineral collectors for producing exceptional Fluorite specimens, including beautifully zoned purple and green crystals. This piece is a lovely example of the delicate pastel colour combinations and complex cubic growth associated with material from this locality.
