A gorgeous example of the beautiful colour zoning Yao Gang Xian fluorite is known for.
Soft icy mint-green fluorite is layered with delicate lavender-purple zoning, with the purple tracing the edges and growth layers of the crystals like little geometric outlines. From different angles, you can see the colours shift between pale green, lilac and almost colourless translucent areas.
YGX is one of China’s most celebrated mineral localities, particularly prized by collectors for its fluorite and the incredible variety of colours, zoning and crystal habits found there.
This piece is such a lovely example of why YGX fluorite is so special — subtle at first, but full of colour and detail the closer you look.
