A beautifully textured Bladed Calcite specimen from Longyan, Fujian, China, covered in dense layers of delicate ivory crystal blades.

The Calcite grows in soft, overlapping formations across the entire piece, creating a wonderfully intricate surface filled with tiny fans, petals and feathery crystal clusters. Some areas are more compact and sculptural, while others open into finer layered growth, giving the specimen a lot of depth and movement from every angle.

I especially love how organic this piece feels. Rather than forming in one uniform direction, the Calcite seems to fold and build over itself, creating an almost floral, cloud-like structure with subtle cream and pale honey tones throughout.

Longyan is known for beautifully crystallised Calcite specimens, including distinctive bladed and petal-like habits that make particularly sculptural display pieces.

Calcite is traditionally associated with clarity, cleansing and uplifting energy.
