An incredibly sculptural Calcite specimen from Longyan, Fujian, China, featuring layer upon layer of delicate ivory and soft peach crystal blades.

The Calcite grows in dense, overlapping stacks, with some formations radiating outward into beautiful rosettes while others resemble hundreds of tiny crystalline sheets pressed together. Subtle blush-peach colouring appears along some of the crystal tips, adding warmth and depth to the otherwise creamy palette.

I especially love the almost architectural formation of this piece. Every angle reveals a different arrangement of petals, fans and intricate layered growth, giving it the appearance of a naturally formed crystalline bouquet.

Longyan is known for beautifully formed Calcite specimens, including striking bladed and petal-like habits that make especially sculptural display pieces.
