Flower Calcite on Quartz — Inner Mongolia China

A beautifully sculptural mineral specimen from Inner Mongolia, China, featuring two elegant Quartz points adorned with delicate Calcite growth.

The Quartz forms the striking foundation of this piece, with tall, well-defined crystal points rising naturally together. Their softly translucent surfaces have a subtle frosted lustre, while areas of warm earthy inclusions give the specimen a beautifully natural, untouched character.

Growing across and between the Quartz are intricate clusters of creamy-white Calcite. Some form delicate bladed crystals, while others gather into layered, almost flower-like rosettes. One particularly beautiful Calcite formation sits prominently against the front of the Quartz, creating an unexpected softness against the strong geometry of the crystal points.

Turn the specimen around and an entirely different landscape appears, with Calcite tucked into crevices and scattered across the Quartz surfaces alongside tiny warm-toned mineral inclusions.

Inner Mongolia is well known amongst mineral collectors for producing complex and highly aesthetic mineral associations. This specimen is a lovely example of that diversity, combining classic Quartz crystal form with the more delicate and sculptural habit of Calcite.
