Pink Barite and Cerussite on Galena - Midelt Province, Morocco

8cm by 6.5cm. Stand included.

A beautifully complex specimen from the renowned Mibladen Mining District, featuring delicate peachy-pink Barite growing amongst metallic Galena and crystalline Cerussite.

The Barite forms countless fine blades and rosette-like clusters, shifting from creamy ivory to soft blush and warm salmon pink. Chunky lead-grey Galena creates a striking contrast throughout, while Cerussite adds another layer of delicate crystalline detail tucked amongst the Barite.

I especially love how much there is to discover in this piece. From every angle, layers of Barite petals overlap around flashes of metallic Galena and smaller Cerussite formations, giving it the appearance of a tiny mineral garden.

Mibladen is one of Morocco’s most celebrated lead-mining districts, particularly known amongst collectors for beautiful associations of Barite, Galena and Cerussite.
