Pink Heulandite & Apophyllite 10

Striking, sculptural and beautifully delicate, this specimen features an impressive clear Apophyllite crystal emerging from a soft bed of naturally pink Heulandite.

The Heulandite forms a dense covering of delicate bladed crystals in warm shades of peach and blush pink, creating a beautifully textured backdrop with a soft pearly lustre.

The centrepiece is the large Apophyllite crystal, with broad glassy faces, beautiful translucency and intricate internal textures that shimmer as the light moves across its surface. A smaller clear Apophyllite crystal sits just beneath it, adding another little point of sparkle against the pink Heulandite. The dramatic size of the main crystal against the slender matrix gives this piece an especially striking display profile.

This beautiful mineral association comes from India’s Deccan basalt formations, an area renowned amongst collectors for producing exceptional zeolite specimens and striking combinations of Apophyllite and Heulandite.
